Looks like a keeper to me. I bet that's a fun shooter for sure.

How do you kill a 200 plus pound hog with a .22? Shoot him behind the ear? Shoot them if they are already in a trap?

I may be joining a club that is eat up with hogs. Seems most members hunt hogs more than they hunt deer. I may be looking to outfit a rifle for hog hunting but never considered a .22.

Ask a warden how many deer get killed with .22’s.

For 35 plus years, duct tape was my favorite hog getter. 22 hornet was number 2 but way behind

On hogs I always shoot for the head regardless of caliber. I killed a 275 lb boar hog several years ago at 45 yards with a .22lr and he never knew what hit him.

If you put it on his dome at a reasonable distance it’s straight death or at least enough to get a good follow up shot.

There’s a big difference in being able to get that CNS shot, or shooting fast, for whatever you can get. LOL….They’re like coyotes (or evil people) to me: sometimes, any lead on meat is better than none….but that’s just my take on varmint control vs ‘sport’ hunting for pork in the freezer. So far, I don’t hog hunt in AL…..just some other places where they’re truly a PITA and they want them all dead, no matter how.

6.5 PRC XP-100

16.5" 308 Winchester with Hornady TAP Ammo (168 grain A-Max). Budyy was using a 16.5" 243 Winchester with 105 A-Max's.
Both were using brand unobtainium gear to see at night

We killed a lot more hogs over several night, but this was the biggest one.

I killed 2 and wounded a 3rd one Thursday morning with my 1911 commander 45. Was disking a food plot and 8-10 came into the field and didn't pay any attention to me on the tractor. Not my first choice but it was all I had with me.
