Last year I planted one row of okra. The wife complained that she has to pick it everyday. This year I planted two rows.

Did two rows this year myself. We eat the fire out of it so I figured why not?

I planted a row. Only half came up. Gonna plant another one now. We eat the heck out of it. It is an everyday picking though!

Don't blame me for your bad decision-

Be careful lol. I planted 2 rows, had about half come up, went and bought plants to replace the ones that didn’t come up, and now the ones I thought weren’t coming up have come up too. Not a bad problem to have we should have plenty to go around.

I had that happen one year in Tennessee. They ate everything but the sweet corn but waited until the okra was blooming and had a few pods on it. Thought I was going to have a little cash crop from an acre of Black Diamond watermelons. That's the year I found out deer will punch a hole in a melon and eat down to the rind. They ate a 2 acre patch of sunflowers that had gotten about 2' tall. But........they won't touch turnip greens or any other type rapeseed plant. And as mentioned above soak okra seed overnight in water before planting. I did this with a pound of seed a few years back. Drained it and dried off on paper towels before planting it with an Earthway planter.
