Near the shooting range in oakmulgee. Tons of hogs. Find low areas that are wet. Please go kill them Along Sandy Creek east of the chootân range? Lots of restrictions 09/01 to 09/10 deer gear. 09/12 to 02/28 rabbit and squirrel guns (rimfire, #4- scatters, muzzle loaders .40- or air rifles) except gun and primitive weapons days for deer then those guns. I guess bow gear 10/15 to mid feb.

Donât go by what I think. The rules are kinda tough to read. I looked at the back of the Oakmulgee WMA map on the outdoor alabama app. There is a high likelihood the mileage of others will vary.

Where I've seen them are in the low drainage areas south of the shooting range which was WMA land. I know a couple of property owners further north closer to 82 and they see them fairly regularly as well. So that gives you an idea of how spread out they are. They run in large groups and are fairly mobile, but a good hog hunter that knows sign should be able to get on them I believe.
Reading the rules on the WMA permit for hog hunting is about like interpreting Japanese. I thought that you could hunt hogs all year down there outside of the main hunting seasons, but it doesn't appear to be very clear. Who writes these stupid things anyway? And no wonder there's a growing hog issue in the WMA if they aren't allowing folks to hunt them until September (if I am interpreting the rules right)
"BOBCAT, COYOTE, FERAL SWINE, & FOX: Open during any other scheduled WMA Hunting Season using weapons and ammunition approved for those hunts. No Dogs Allowed. Daylight Hours Only. One fox a day"
Any of the NF lands bordering the WMA would be a good place to go, a lot less rules to abide by.
The truth!
