Sometimes I want a boat. Then I read stories like these that convince me I would 100% end up being the main character in one. I’ll stick with my kayak lol.

I once watched a grown man unhook a trailer from his truck and push the boat and trailer in the water. He then rehooked the trailer to the boat and pulled the trailer out of the water. This was at Fishermans Resort just below Wheeler Dam. Backing a trailer ought to be a requirement before receiving a drivers license.

I guy at Kowaliga the other day backed his pontoon boat in the water and his trailer came off the ball. Boat is still hooked up in the front. He got it the boat and we were able to unlatch it then once the boat cleared the trailer we picked the trailer up and hooked it back to the truck. His said” I guess I didn’t latch the trailer down when I left the house, I’m just new to this”.

My parents had a 1973 Buick Riviera, that was doo doo brown. Dad had a trailer hitch installed and bought a bass boat. Dad had an uncle visiting and took him fishing. Uncle Tommy backed dad and the boat down the ramp and got too deep with the car and flooded the car. The car had electric windows and he could not get the windows down to get out. Dad said uncle Tommy was jumping around like a cat as the car filled with water. The car wound up about half submerged and uncle Tommy survived. rofl

I would of loved to have a video of the event.

Before daylight one morning to deer hunt at Rattlesnake bend island. McConnico Creek boat ramp, close to 1987, we were waiting for some guys to get out of the way so we could launch our boat. We weren’t paying too much attention to them due to getting all our stuff ready. I finally got out and walked over and asked the guy if they didn’t mind we would like to launch our boat. He replied “I’d rather you didn’t. My truck is just under the surface.” He already had someone on the way to help so we got a good laugh en route to another ramp.

I think folks are sometimes disappointed when they don’t get to see me bailout to dive in and catch the boat drifting away. The Ulterra is the best thing in the world for solo boat launch.

Ask FurFlyin about that! I may have my people mixed up, but someone I know did that and had the breaker flipped. rofl

One thing you can’t do with the remote is to power on the Ulterra. If you forget to turn it on during your prelaunch it could get a little embarrassing.

I don't know boat ramp funny's,,, but this kid is riding the trailer standing at the bow strap as dude backs the trailer into the water,,,, he was supposed to hook the strap crank it tight and ride the boat and trailer to the parking lot,,,

As the trailer hits a pot hole the kid slips as the trailer is backed into the water... when the dude pulls up as people are screaming at him to stop.. he's pulled up far enough and the kid is no where in sight... he became trapped under the trailer,,,, we just knew that kid was being crushed....

Praise the grace of God he was small enough to have gotten under the trailer , after a moment his head popped out from the under the back of the trailer shouting he was okay and actually had a smile on his face ,,, His dad thanked us for shouting loud enough to hear us as we all walked up to the parking lot,,, said he couldn't imagine what would have happened if he didn't hear us or just him and his boy alone there.
