Andalusia OP 10 point Joined: Jan 2017 Posts: 3,535 Lower Alabama	Spent a couple of days on the White River in Arkansas catching Brown Trout. Stayed at Gaston's Resort and used a local guide from Donald Cranor guide service. My wife and I caught 17 good sized Brown trout the first day and 13 the next day. We were using a spinning reel and minnows. Flow rate was high and tough going for those who were using a fly rod. Bite was a little slower the second day as a big hatch was starting. Most folks were catching small rainbows but the Brown bite was great! Highly recommend the resort and guide service. Have fished on/off over many years on the White River and this trip was definitely in the top three. The area we were staying at is in Lakeview, Arkansas. It is about 85 miles north and a little west of Batesville. Close to Mountain Home.
