Good question. Everyone will give you a "per acre" rate, but I don't know many hunters that have their sprayers dialed in that tight.

Buzzard, fill your sprayer tank with water. Spray one acre. Whatever is missing is what it takes you to spray an acre. You just have to stay in that gear and rpm. Pretty easy. My 55gal sprayer will get over 3acres if im in low 4th gear running 2500 rpm.

The label should give you ratios for target weeds. I’d select the rate appropriate for the most difficult target present and am start there. Gallons per acre will vary wildly from individual to individual based on equipment used and the speed and efficiency of application.
My best suggestion is to give it a water only test run. See how many gallons you use at a given speed to cover x-area. Apply that to your equation with regards to how much product you need in your mix.

I think it’s 3 oz per gal but I can check when I get home and let you know for sure. I wrote it on the side of the jug for spot spray applications.

This is the way to do it. Nobody can give you an amount per gallon that will be anywhere close to right. The amount of water you use is irrelevant unless you go to extremes. The amount of chemical per acre is all that matters, and you can put enough to do an acre in 15 gallons or 100 gallons.

Or simply use the 1/1000th acre calibration method and save from riding around wasting all that water. Takes maybe 15 mins

Measure your spray tip spacing. Usually 15-20” spacing. 341’ for 15” spacing and 262’ for 20” spacing. Put flags out on those distances. Run your sprayer at desired speed from flag to flag timing how long it takes to travel that distance. Then park sprayer and turn pump on. Collect water from a tip randomly and several for that time it took to travel X amount of feet based in tip spacing. The amount of water you caught is how much water you are putting down per acre.

You know, its funny how when somebody does something for a living, they explain it like its really easy. I was lost after the first sentence. I would probably have to forget two or three other things to remember that process. I burnt up a bunch of braincells in my 20s. I gotta be really careful about how hard i strain the ones i have left.

Most of us can’t even differentiate between to, too and two or lose and loose or their and there.

And you’re wanting us to do this!?!? ^^^ 🙄🤔😂

Did this question ever get answered? How much 24db per acre if spraying clover? Label only has rates for soybean, peanuts, and alfalfa

I think I am using .3 oz per gallon. I just round up and put about 16oz in my 26 gallon tank. Add a surfactant. Or dish soap. It takes it a little bit to start working, but once it starts killing stuff, it kills it.

That is one of the things I like about it, I don't need to use as much of it as I would if using roundup. It just doesn't kill grass. Add clethodim if you want to kill grass.

I did try some Imox, and thought it did well, but also noticed what most people have said about it, that it isn't as effective on vegetation once it gets on up in size.

I use a boomless nozzle on my ATV sprayer. It puts out 5 gallons per acre at 5 mph and 30 lbs of pressure. It covers about 12' at that pressure. I'm SURE my track spacing is not super consistent, BUT... I typically get about 4 acres per tank load (25 gallon tank) and usually have a very good kill without a lot of missed spots. I put 1 gallon of Roundup in my 25 gallon tank and water. Spraying 4 acres to a fill up gives me a quart of active RU per acre. Probably overkill but has worked for me for years.

IF you have a way to monitor your speed and pressure, it's all math, mostly easy math. All of your spray tips will have a rate chart. X tip puts out Y gph at Z pressure and T speed. I use a single flood (boomless style) tip. I got wore out with booms with multiple spray tips. You have to run them at a consistent height to get your spray pattern correct (so as to overlap each ones spray correctly).

TeeJet (sprayer parts company) used to have a great breakdown of how to do this in their book. I'm sure it's online now. If you don't spray with something that has a speedometer, download a speed app on your phone or pick a gear and rpm on your tractor you're comfortable with. Mark off 300' and time how long it takes you to cross that distance in that gear and rpm. The TeeJet formula will let you figure it out.

There’s an app called Calibration by Clemson that is handy for calibration. You just plug the numbers and it spits out the answer

I wouldn't spray any of those with 2,4DB. It kills soybeans, ask me how I know............

I was out at the club today checking on my field I sprayed with a back pack sprayer and .3 oz per gallon and every broadleaf thing i sprayed was keeling over. Thats how I mix my tank and then I just go spray and drive between 5 and 10 mph, as long as I am getting the leaves wet with it as I go, then I am not going to fast.

That seems like a really hot rate.

I run 2.5 gallons (Cornerstone plus) per 160 gallons and in 2 weeks everything is DEAD.
