Back in the day I used the 245 Powerbelt Aerotip typically over 100 gr of either pyrodex or 777. Consistently accurate and would group ~1"-1.5"@100 yards. Performance on deer was suspect as it would typically shed most of the hollow point while penetrating, but believe all were complete pass throughs. The fragility of the jacket caused concern and I stopped using them. Funny thing is for years I used a saboted hornady 240gr JHP, over the same load, and never any indication of jacket separation.

I bought the CVA Acura V2 LR 50 cal. and had trouble grouping several types of sabots. Did some research and tried the 245 Powerbelt aerotip copper and starting getting 2" groups at 100 yards. I think I'm gonna try the aerolite with 100 grains of 777 pellets and see how they do. I've read where alot of folks are getting 1-1.5 inch groups with this combo at 100 yards. If I could get the same results with mine i would be very happy

I switched to hollow points several years ago. Haven't had to track on over 50 yards since

I have not shot a deer with them yet, but I have my 50 cal sighted in with 300 gr aerolites. Groups are pretty good at 75 yards maybe 1”-1.5” or so.
When I researched them a while back it seems I read they are intended to be fairly soft for weight/caliber as they are marketed as a longer range bullet. Since I know most shots will be close, I chose a heavier weight bullet to mitigate possible over expansion. Maybe I’ll get to shoot one next year and see how it does. That's kinda what I was wanting was something that would expand good but I'm looking for accuracy most of all. My average shots are 100 yards or less but this past year I had a guy with a 300hp forestry mulched come in and make me a food plot on my 80 acres in the shape of a turkey foot with a shooting house at the base with the 2 outside lanes 100 yards long and the center about 200 so I wanted something that I could shoot to the end of it with. I've also got a 10 acre clear cut on another piece of property that I hunt so I wanted to be able to shoot a little further than normal.

I’m not a powerbelt fan. Get you some Barnes Expanders and never track a deer over 50 yards.
