8" or 10"? Insulated or Non
Where'd you buy if you don't mind me asking? On-line or a dealer?
Uninsulated 8" Nevadas from BlackOvis.com. Search around and you should be able to find at least a 10% off code for black ovis on rokslide.

Please don’t say it’s so!!! My Danner pronghorns have been with me all over the country but it’s about time for another pair. So the new ones suck????

That's what I should have bought when I bought my last pair off boots. What model are those? Crispi Nevadas

I'm a long way from the mountains here in central Alabama, but have been researching mountain hunting boots for awhile. Planning on a couple of trips starting next year. Crispi is leading the race as far as reviews go. Did you try on Kennetrek, Zamberlain, Schnees, or any other brands? I looked at all you listed but we don't have dealers here. I decided on the Nevadas because they were a little cheaper than the Guide. I think I'll have to get used to the shorter boot. I had Blackovis send me 2 pair, one regular and 1 wide. Went with the wide and they feel good
I tried on a pair of the higher Crispi Nevedas 10-11" non -insulated at a dealer. Felt great in the store? But didn't pull the trigger on them. Mine are non-insulated but the Goretex liner adds a touch of warmth but not much
What made you decide on the Nevada's and why leather over Cordura with Gore-tex? The uninsulated Nevadas are lined with Gore-Tex. I went leather since all my leather boots have lasted longer than the cordura plus every cordura boot I have even after treating them leak and last year pissed me off hunting with wet feet lol.
Figure you've got more experience with that type boot than most. I looked at the flex rating for the Crispi boots. I'm not in a terribly steep area, in fact I hunt low a lot and these boots have plenty of ankle support for steep terrain. I just knew I'd hike a lot and didn't want super stiff. I almost went with the Zamberlan but I got a discount on these.

Got from BlackOvis. They sent 2 pair and now after choosing I have a free return label for the pair I'm not keeping and they'll refund me the money for that pair. Uncle Sam paid for them lol

Those look like some good boots. I need some.
Danners boots have all gone to shucks. I hate them now, and I used to wear them religiously. They jacked the price up on the pronghorns to $230 a pair, changed the design, and they leak like hell. Been looking at crispis, kenetrek, schnees, etc. I just want something I can buy and set aside to use for hunting only and not for work and have them last me a while. I hate getting wet feet and I walk a lot while hunting. MY danners LEAK and are really slippery on wet stuff for me

I love my Kenetrek Mountain Extreme NI boots. I bought some Crispi Valdres for around here to help keep miles off my Kenetreks. I like the Crispi boots, as well.

Amongst those listed, they are all pretty good. My kenetrek ME are almost a decade old and took a bit to break in, but now only get worn maybe 15-20 days/year and have a bunch of years left.

I liked the kenetrek, zamberlan and the schnees but I couldn't pass up the 20% off and the reviews lol. It also helped that they shipped me 2 pair and a free return label for the size I didn't like. I think they all top of the line. I have 11 miles on here. Yesterday bear hunting I did right at 6 miles and went into the swamp to see how quick my feet would get wet. Bone Dry!!! I even played in puddles a few times. I had on a light weight brush gaiter, not waterproof

Zamberlan Latemar NW. These pop out at me. For mountaineering I've got a pair of Scarpa Mont Blanc and I like those. However the NW constructed boots are way better than their molded counterparts just getting very hard to find

Please don’t say it’s so!!! My Danner pronghorns have been with me all over the country but it’s about time for another pair. So the new ones suck???? I will second that. I bought a new pair of Quarry for a good price offline. Leather looks and feels fake and no they are not waterproof like they should be.

Danner built it's brand around boots like their Elk Hunter and their hiking boots i.e. the Mountain Light. Those are the good ones. I feel like they have really damaged their brand making cheaper products but I am sure the labor in making a boot like those I mentioned is significant and this would be why nobody makes boots like this anymore. I don't know if you can make good boots on a machine or what the process is but constructing them like a tennis shoe has to be easier. And they last about the same as a tennis shoe.
I really like their Elk Hunters. Very good hunting boots for Turkey or out West hunting. I don't love the bob sole around rocky ground because it is slippery but otherwise they are really nice. I have never heard anyone in my life say they are uncomfortable.
