Chop the neck off just below the shoulder, run it up in a 300 BO sizing die, trim to length. Debur, chamfer. Chamfer/swage primer pocket if it was military brass. Load, shoot.

I sure would like to see that jig. Did you buy it?
Or build it.
Thats the part of the whole process i havent figured out yet.
I told my buddy what Timberwolf said.
Just havent come up with a way to cut it off without crushing it.

CnC how much brass you need converted? It'd be cheaper to buy new brass in the long run. Converting a few just to see how is one thing doing 5K is almost work. Converting .308 to .44 auto mag broke me of wildcatting.

Only hits count.

I use a small cutoff saw I got at Harbor Freight. I carved a little jig slot into a wood block to hold the case in the right spot.

Thanks Dave. Its for my nephew, and im thinking he may want a couple hundred.
Enough for his two boys to hunt with untill they can handle a larger rifle.
I think you are right. By the time he learns what work he has to put into it,he will be more satisfied to reload the ones he has. With the price and scarecity of primers and powder im sure they won't do much target practicing.
