Never had the opportunity really to trap beavers but we have a spot where i need to trap a few before they do damage. I don’t really want to wrestle with a 330 connibear so I’m planning to go with footholds (castor mound I’m thinking) and I guess a long chain staked off. I didn’t see any size restrictions on water footholds, am I right? If so I was thinking to go with a duke 650 or 750. Budget is very small and I don’t have any of the equipment for this beaver project. Any help would be appreciated

750 sized trap. Bridger #5, MB750, TS85 & No BS . They'll around run around $30 each or a little more. Make certain you set for a back foot catch long chaining. I've lost 2 recently on drowning setups where an entanglement and front foot catch resulted in a wring off. The last one due to sandy material on a dam break opening up and losing too much water.

You can set your chain up as a drowning rig if the water is deep enough.

"Cull" is just another four letter word...
