Just a reminder about these little retrievers. I've had 3 Boykins and 2 Field Bred English Cockers, and every one of them has problems with swallowing stuff that they can't pass. Most of my friends with these dogs go through at least one scare. Labs, and most retrievers, are notorious for it, but these pint size dogs can't pass the dish towels, leashes, socks, underwear etc, that Labs digest with ease. My 9 month old Cocker went down Monday AM, and the vet and I have been convinced it was bacterial, just something nasty he found at the lake on Sunday. The Barium x-rays today show something lodged in the stomach, so he'll operate tomorrow. White blood count is still good, so I don't think anything is septic yet.

My boykin has thrown up underwear, shat out oatmeal bath bombs made out of pantyhose for my young'ns excema, shat out an expanding foam bath toy of my sons, shat out crayons, qtips, paper towels, wife's face wash wipes. Fortunately she has passed everything she has eaten in her 4.5 years of life. Was unaware of the underwear until she threw them up. Neither of may labs have ever eaten anything like that...maybe because they live outside. Hopefully your dog will be ok.

We thought it was stomach, but found about 3/4 of a buckeye in the small intestine. Should be fine. Main problem will be keeping him calm while he heals. High energy level.
