I have seen several recipes and other concoctions online. Do any work better than plain old corn?

Old used oil from a fish fryer mixed with corn to keep deer from eating it.

Plain ole corn works great.

A biologist tested all sorts of stuff and reported at the Wild Pig Conference a few years ago that plain corn was the 2nd best bait.
The best was dehydrated fish. But, it is a pain to dehydrate enough to be useful.

The best I’ve seen is strawberry soda poured over a 5gal bucket of corn and left to sit for a week
Dig a hole pour in mix...if the hogs are in the area they’ll come immediately
The first time I tried this I was parked maybe 50 yards away and before I got to the truck after pouring the corn in the hole there was a hog in the hole going after the corn
Killed a lot of hogs doing this since then

I’ve had luck with the strawberry stuff and soured corn, too. Once you get them coming in regularly plain corn works well.

Pancake syrup, liquid acorn rage, and a squirt of doe estrus has been working well for me lately.

In Texas it was a cup of diesel for 5 gal bucket of corn. Nothing else touched it. I would also sour it and bury it in a shallow hole. They loved to root it up.

Ok, so the question is.....

What kind of hog hunting are you doing?

Baiting a site for a same night hunt? Will you be making a long term site with a feeder?

Long Term sight with a feeder, CORN!,,,, Just plain old corn, stay dry, won't gum up the feeder. Use steel drum feeders from Moultrie.

Baiting for one night or say for a weekend?

Post hole digger, 5 gallon bucket, and basically ferment some corn in a bucket with anything...

Beer, yogurt, fruity smelly soda, jello, coolaid, brown sugar, white sugar, whatever.....

my recipe?
5 gallon bucket
1/2 fill with corn
12 pack of crap beer (smellier the better)
2 table spoons yeast
couple big scoops of sugar
Plain yogurt.
Cover bucket and leave a small hole to of-gas or use a fermenter bubble trap (home brewing supply)

Leave for a week, or two, or three

dig a foot deep hole with post hole digger and poof stinky bait hole (just don't get it on you)
