Just wondering if anyone here shoots these in their 7mm-08 and if so how do you like them. I'm thinking of trying some of these and some 140 game kings to see which one my gun likes better. I've read where a lot of people say the 120 grain pro hunter is too light while others say it performs great.

Personally I’d go with the 140s if your gun shoots them but I can’t give you any data. I’ve just always figured heavier bullets were better for the woods.
Never heard of a Gameking failing to perform like it’s supposed to.

I can’t help you with those bullets, but 120 grain NBTs and 140 grain Partitions and Accubonds form flawlessly in my 7-08. The 120s are traveling 3000 fps and the 140s are going 2850 fps out of a 20” barrel.

Personally I was leaning more towards the 140 game king but I've read alot of good things about the 120 pro hunter also. I shot 140 accubonds out of my rifle this year (model 70 EW) and only shot 1 doe with it and was not pleased with the performance. She was about 200 yards and I hit her right behind the shoulder and she never bled a drop and there was no hair or anything. I looked for a couple hours and come to the conclusion I missed completely. Well 3 days later I went back and found buzzards flying all over and after walking where the buzzards were I found her. I may be wrong but I think at 7mm-08 velocity and at 200 yards shooting right behind the shoulder not hitting any bone the bullets just did not mushroom at all leaving a small entry and exit hole. This is the reason I was wanting to try something like the game king or pro hunter that isn't quite as "tough" as the accubond.

I've shot a few deer w/ the 120gr Sierras out of my 7mm-08. Longest was a doe at ~120 yards and watched her pile up within 50'. Have also shot deer with the 120 nosler bt. Sweet spots for both were around 3000fps.

I've got no experience with 120 Sierras out of a 7'08 but have plenty with 140 Sierra GKs and 120 Nosler BTs. Both are wicked on whitetails and I've gotten an exit with good blood trail (many not needed as they fell where they stood) every time on about 20 or so animals. On the deer you shot with the Accubond, were you able to examine the shot placement and exit? My experience with Accubonds has been good at a wide range of speeds. I shoot or have shot them in various cartridges from 2500-3500 fps without losing an animal.

From what I could tell I hit her just behind the shoulder. She was standing perfectly broad side when I shot. I could not see the entry hole due to what the buzzards and coyotes had done to her but on the exit side which was laying on the ground I could see a very small hole that would've been right in line with the entry hole where I was aiming. I shoot the 140 Accubonds in my 7mag and they perform great at that velocity and wouldn't consider shooting anything else. Biggest reason I was considering the 120 pro hunter is because my son is fixing to be 6 and he is wanting to start shooting and I thought the 120 grain would be alot easier for him to handle. Another thing I've thought about is how many deer have been killed by people shooting a 80-100 grain bullets out of a 243 myself included so if that small of a bullet does that well in a 243 a 120 in the 7mm-08 should do just as good or maybe a little better in my mind.

I've always great success with the 140 gr Accubonds. Used to shoot them in a 7 mm RM. Recovered one from a Kansas buck shot at 300 yards and it's a picture perfect mushroom. At that range velocity would be approximately the same as a 7 08 at 150 yards.

I hope to shoot my next elk with a 140 grain Accubond out of my 7-08.

I loaded the 120 Nosler BTs using a reduced load of H4895 when my son started at 6 years old. Velocity was about 2500 fps, felt recoil appeared to be less than a full load 243 100 gr bullet. Out of about 10 deer and hogs shot with that load, only 1 took a step. As he got older, I gradually added powder til he was at full power loads. He currently shoots 140 gr Sierra GKs with a heavy dose of Varget.

I've heard alot of good things about the 120 ballistic tip in a 7mm-08. I've just always been scared of ballistic tips because of all the horror stories but I've read where the 120 ballistic tip is a much tougher bullet than what most would expect it to be. If I end up buying the 120 pro hunters I'd planned on trying a mild load of IMR4064 just because that and IMR4350 is what I've got and cant seem to get my hands on anything else right now but been trying to get my hands on some ramshot big game to try also.

Hodgdons used to have a write up on their site using H4895 for true reduced loads. Be careful going below book starting point for most powders.

As noted, I've limited kills with the 120 Nosler BT. The only deer I have shot with them was a doe at ~70 yards slightly quartering to. Shot hit about the 2nd rib, exited opposite side about the next to last rib. She ran out of sight. No blood to trail other than a few drops about where she took her last death leap over an embankment and landed/died about half way. Shot to recovery was ~75 yards. This was out of a Rem 700 over a load of Varget. Very accurate and chronographed a tad over 3000 fps.

If you are loading sub 3000 fps reduced loads, I would opt for the 120 Sierra as it has been used with good success in 7-30 Waters and TC Contenders. At best with a 14" barrel, it's going maybe ~ 2400 fps. I've always shot the Sierra 130 gr SSP out of 7X30s, but that bullet was specifically made for single shot pistols.

140 Game Kings work great in my 7mm 08 TC.

I just bought some of these and 2 pounds of Ramshot big game to see how my rifle likes them. Heard alot of good things about big game in the 7mm-08 so gonna try the 140 game kings and the 120 pro hunters to see which it likes better.

I built my son and wife a mauser scout rifle in 7x57 years ago to hunt with instead if buying a youth rifle and used 120gr sierras to be light in recoil and man they are devastating on deer.every deer my son shot folded up probably 4 does.very effective and accurate
