TSS good to 70 yards....(or 40 yards on oldgobbler) I'd still rather use 00 buck for penetration through arms or other objects that might be covering vitals that bird shot might not make it through. Besides, I like the option of shooting through walls and studs to kill the perp; I am also not sure bird shot could do this...

#6 shot will go thru a sheetrock wall like grease thru a bird dog.....
shooting thru walls and studs is the reason a lot of us DON'T use buckshot. Buckshot will go thru several walls before it stops.
go try some #6 at 50 feet and see what ya get.......

Some of the worst wounds I have ever seen come in to the ER were made by bird shot at inside house ranges. Fugly is the word that comes to mind! That is why I keep a shotgun by my bed with high powered 6's in it. I don't know how big your house is but at any distance you could possibly shoot someone inside mine I have no worries about how well it would work.
At real close range they hit like a big slug. At about 10 yards they spread out to about the size of a baseball and just shred anything and everything inside that size hole.
