I went to a gun show here in Jacksonville, FL and the prices for reloading components were outrageous. A sleeve of 1000 large rifle primers was going for $375.00.Large pistol was $325 and the cheapest was small pistol at $275. A lb of any powder was $75 and up. It's a shame to see. What's everyone else seeing in their neck of the woods?

Seeing nothing. It’s all dried up. Can’t even find a reloading manual in most places.

Remember that store. When, or if, things get back to normal, do not darken their doors again.
I'm all for capitalism. If they can sell it for those prices then that's their business. But there is an old saying - Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice same on me.

I bought into the fear after Sandy Hook and paid too much for magazines at a store in Trussville. They were telling folks once the 30 round magazines sell out no more will ever be made. After they were outlawed. I paid $50/ea for 3 magpul magazines.

They weren't outlawed and those magazines cost $14.95 at any store today. I'll never buy another thing from that store.

Yep. Which is why a lot of us will never do business with cheaperthandirt ever again.

I went to simmons last week. They had no primers, and the bullets were picked over but there were things available. If you like lead bullets (I do) they had bulk boxed of magnus stuff still there. They have powder for what appeared to me to be the same prices as always, I will admit that I havent bought much powder lately as I usually buy in kegs once I like something. The overly popular stuff is gone (varget ETC) but there are substitutes available. Jeff was standing by and helping eveyone he could to find a substitute for whatever powder they wanted, you just dont see that everywhere. Most places seem to enjoy laughing and saying "haven't seen any of that in a LONG time" but at least Jeff would say no, but lets find something you can use. I am sure there are folks who dont like simmons for one reason or another but I will remember this when all of this is over and continue to support them, however small my support is. FYI they also have a list you can get one for things that are hard to find, they call down the list when they get it.

Exact reason I loaded up in 2020. Between Covid, Antifa / BLM assholes, election, figured when I saw it I'd buy it. Powder and primers were my main purchases. Throughout the year, prices steadily increased at many stores. Now you can't find it and when you do it's likely prices will be high as giraffe pun.

Place was packed. Most had cash in hand. Witnessed one guy buying 1000 rounds of 5.56 for $1500 cash. He commented he wanted to be prepared. It's ridiculous what people are paying.

I saw 8# of H4350 sell for $645 plus shipping/hazmat on gunbroker last week. A single pound of it will bring north of $100.

I've recently ordered several hundred bullets from Midway USA. I get on their notification lists and also monitor the calibers I'm interested in.

This is insane. And keep hearing this year isn’t gonna see any more product than currently. People gonna rob semis hauling primers before long. Armored bank cars aren’t worth the hassle. That guy asking $30/100 for large rifle primers isn’t so bad.

SO, if a guy had a ton of primers and wanted to capitalize on this market. What would aldeer think would be a fair price to ask for them? I am not even considering selling what I may, or may not have, but curiosity has the best of me.

Seems to me the value of something is what someone will pay for something right now. And what people are paying for these right now is known on the gun/ammo auction sites. Gonna take a little work, and shipping too most likely.

I agree. I was just asking because I hear a lot of people saying things are way too high, but no one mentions what they would pay? I am sure we all have a "if they are worth x I would sell mine, and if I can buy them for y I would start buying them". Just wondering what other folks were thinking x and y were? Again, I am NOT asking so I can sell some just a curiosity. And yes gun auction sites are out there, but I think those prices are the extreme cases and not what us more normal folks would pay, regardless..

I just checked Gunbroker to see what people are bidding on primers..........absolutely nuts! Glad I already have what I need.
