Good lord my wife is on my tail about planting a 3 or 4 acre pumpkin patch for the grandkids. We have 3 grandkids. I know the question why 3 or 4 acres. That will have to be taken up with the wife. She says she wants kids from all around to come get a pumpkin. Anywho my question is anyone can tell me when i need to plant and what kind of pumkins i need to plant for bigger ones. Yes i know its early just trying to get a head start. Thanks in advance

You or your wife, or both of you are gonna want to plant them before June, but don't plant them before June. You'll have half rotted pumpkins before Halloween if you do.

Its easy you will be fine. Biggest thing is you need to plan them so they get ripe at the same time. Big ones take longer so they will get planted first. Then you will plant the smaller ones according to how long they take. Scroll down on this page it gives some great info. https://www.ruppseeds.com/vegetables/products/pumpkins

Planted mine in July in an 1/8 acre area and we produced somewhere around 60 pumpkins. 3-4 acres is gonna be a CRAP LOAD of pumpkins π. I do understand that. This is not my doings

If you'll plant a wide variety of them you can sell the crap out of them on FB. One of the guys at the shop sold no telling how many hundreds of dollars worth last fall.
