Browning silver compared to browning maxus.
I know there are other great guns out there, Benelli, stoeger, Remington, etc... but I’ve decided on these two.

I had a silver in 3.5. It was a solid gun I now shoot the new A5. I’ve owned 10-12 SBEs and SBE2s. I still have my first H&K SBE

I got to shoot the silver this morning and was very impressed. I may save the money and skip on the maxus.

The silver felt really good. Light, easy to shoulder, and cycled the 3 inch #4’s with minimal recoil. I shot a SBE 3 and prefer the silver over it. What are the pros of the maxus?

Got my first benelli in 2005..... still shooting it today. 3 cases of steel and couple cases of lead annually.
Had a Winchester x2 before it that gave me problems. Dads X2 has been flawless for 20 + years I put an X2 through hell for about 5 years. Only thing is firing pin froze one morning on me. Totally my fault. Regret getting rid of it. One thing you need to consider also, length of pull. You buy a gun that has 14.5" LOP and you need 14" for that thick coat or short arms, and you will regret it. I bought an Xtrema, and it was way too long for me.

Remington270, is there a big difference in recoil between the silver and maxus? The recoil doesn’t bother me but my boys are still young. My oldest shot my buddy’s versa max and really liked because of its low recoil, I personally thought the silver had less recoil.
Drake, LOP is something I never considered before. I’m not sure I know enough about it to make a decision based of if it but I’m still reading in it.

My friend bought and sold a Maxus after shooting it at the range for a day, trying to get used to it. Said it was too much of a punch on his shoulder with 2 3/4 lead, let alone 3 1/2 duck or turkey shells.
experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

Get on youtube and look at vids how to measure your LOP. In target shooting (skeet, sporting clays, trap), LOP is probably more important than cast and comb height, IMO.

LOP is critical
Another is do you want a gas or inertia gun. Everyone says gas clog up. I’ve never noticed it and we used to run em pretty dirty. I did drop my SBE H&K in gooey mud and rinsed her in the River and she kept on firing that day. Did a complete cleaning that night.

A guy told me he washed off with a water hose and kept shooting lol
