Set up on a river bottom slough this morning in Madison County. River is 100 yards or so to my east, slough is to my north, bean field and creek bottom to my South. The wind is in my face, hopefully they'll be moving this morning ahead of the rain. God bless and be safe today folks.

Sitting in a pine thicket with my flintlock. I keep getting busted by the sinking thermals on the ridge so I broke down and bought some of that nose jammer. Usually get busted atleast once walking in, but didn’t this time. Either it’s working or they all ran like hell the second I sprayed it. I guess time will tell.

In the backyard fir a while before church. So blessed to have the opportunity to be able to be in the woods again.

Back on public this morning. Watching a thick bottom next to some recently thinned pines.

6 does and one spike so far in Selma

Just had a small spike stroll across the bean field and off onto the river bank. First deer I've seen while on stand this season. Maybe his granddaddy will be along shortly.

Looks like a no-go on the scent jammer so far. Got busted by one down the ridge a good ways.

Spray some more of it and move downwind of the deer

Your wind must be all wrong. None of that stuff helps at all if you're not going
to use the wind to your advantage.

Winds out of the south, which is ideal for my spot, I’m just at the top of a ridge by where they are crossing and the thermals are dragging it down below until the sun is high. Stronger south wind would help or sunny sky would help.

And try to come in and set up so the thermals work in your favor or use a strong north wind to help counter the thermals

If you know the thermals are gonna get you busted then why hunt the spot?

This ^^^^^ people ruin so many good spots on light or variable wind days. Main reason I dont like morning hunting. I get busted or bust deer out walking in so much more often than during evening sits.

Seen 6 on the side the road coming in from work a bit ago all nannies and fawns

Didn’t know they were going to bust me when I walked in or I would of went elsewhere. at the top where I parked my truck and had a stiff enough breeze I thought I was going to be good to go. Got to my spot and all wind died. Can only do but so much.

Ended up seeing 4 this morning. That's the first 4 I've seen so far this season.
