My son caught an 8 lbs largemouth yesterday and I told him I’d get it mounted for him. Wanting to do it on driftwood. We live in Chelsea (Shelby Co) so the surrounding Bham area would be nice but not a deal breaker if I have to drive a bit. I just want a quality job. Anyone have any recommendations? I’ve heard mostly of Joel Stone in Leeds and Joey’s Taxidermy in Maylene but don’t know much about either.

Joel Stone is great and I have seen a ton of his work. Great guy and he does outstanding work.

how do you guys "save" the fish? or do you use photo's & get a taxidermist to do a replica?

how do you guys "save" the fish? or do you use photo's & get a taxidermist to do a replica? Wrap in a wet towel and freeze. They make some super realistic replicas now, but i still prefer a skin mount.......
