Rut report from extreme eastern Lauderdale County: It's on. Two sits in a row with multiple bucks dogging does. The buck my son killed on the youth hunt Sunday had a swollen neck and black tarsals and stunk something serious. There is a sliver of eastern Lauderdale and western Limestone that should probably be moved from Zone A to Zone D, since the rut timing coincides with Zone D. The early rut for this area was acknowledged on the latest rut map, but for some reason they decided not to include this area in Zone D.
He never promised that the cross would not get heavy & the hill would not be hard to climb.
