I really am a rookie turkey hunter, but starting to understand why turkey hunting is tough on my property...and why I heard hardly a gobble. Guess it's better than no turkeys at all. Is there even a jake in there? I see this same flock all around the property, there's probably close to 30 of them.

If they are around in the spring it would be unusual to not have gobblers

Problem is the gobblers don't have to go far or gobble much to get them some lovin'.

What you have there is about average this time of year in my opinion. I've gotten as many as 50-60 sometimes. Seems I remember several years back somebody up near Huntsville posted a pic of probably 100 in a picked field.

You have a lot, I'm just saying I think you are about on par for what you should be seeing if you have a strong population. There's a large group of gobblers running around there together also, I guarantee it.

They tend to segregate by sex this time of year. They’ll splinter and scatter in the spring at which time I doubt you’ll have nearly that many together.

They may be in a different area in spring

If u hav any clear cuts or fresh thinned areas - turkeys will be there in spring

There a lot of other areas they like but they especially like those

Great suggestion OB, Let’s lower the limit on gobblers to 3 per season and have hen days all season long with no limit on them other than you can’t kill more than 2 a day. I think that’s a Multi-game, proven recipe for success. thumbup
