I'm finally upgrading my bow set up. I shoot left handed so most likely I will have to order everything. That also means I don't get to shoot everything before I buy it. I've narrowed it down to the Mathews Vertix and the Bowtech Reign if I can still find some. I usually don't have a problem finding year old lefty models. Anyone shoot these currently that can give me some pros/cons? Thanks in advance.

I shoot a Bowtech Reign 7. I shot it at a bow shop the year it came out and loved it but didnโ€™t talk myself into buying it. Last fall I made up my mind I was going to buy a new bow and shot several of the newest models from different manufacturers and still chose the Reign. In my opinion, it is the best shooting bow I have ever shot.

Both are great shooting bows. It really cones down to personal preference.

did you get the chance to shoot the Mathews and if so what made the Bowtech better?

I did shoot the Mathews. The Bowtech was just an all around better feel to me. It immediately had a natural fit when I picked it up. I liked the draw cycle and loved the back wall. It also has a performance and comfort draw setting. The comfort gives an even smoother draw and you lose about 10 fps. It really all comes down to your own personal preference. I donโ€™t see you being disappointed with either option but I would encourage you to shoot both of them first if you can.

Yea I've tried 4 shops now and nobody has anything in left hand to shoot. I'm calling today to see if I can find anywhere in driving distance that's reasonable.

I like Bowtech over a Mathews. Bowtech just feels better all around to me.

I shoot a left handed vertix. Feels good to me. Have you tried Archery Unlimited in Prattville?

No but Iโ€™m going to call them, I appreciate the recommendation. Thatโ€™s a 2.5 hour drive but possibly worth it to avoid spending $1k on a bow I donโ€™t like

If you like the Reign you'll really like the Realm series bows. I have 2 Prodigys (60 & 70#) and really like the options of the 3 settings for draw and performance.
