Live from undisclosed public land this morning. It was rough getting in here. Boat motor was getting hot digging in the mud and tons of lily pads. I couldn’t see were I was going, but every 30 yards I would see my bright eye on a lily pad trail I marked yesterday. If they drop the water by 11am I will be in trouble. I’m on a trail with white oaks falling between crop fields and bedding area. People walking in today should run deer my way. Buck sign 40 yards away and a pissed off beaver for me parking my boat on his house. Good luck y’all and shoot straight!
It is hard to kill or catch anything sitting on the couch!

Yesterday I was fighting the snakes off, but this morning I was more worried about a hungry alligator. Seen no snakes or gators, so I guess they waiting on the sun to come out to play. No mosquitos this morning yet. Just dark and quiet.

Had a big bodied deer walk through before good shooting light at 10 yards. 1 deer by it’s self was probably the one I wanted. If it would have been 10 minutes later I would have known.

On the same trail where I stuck a doe last year...acorns are dropping pretty good. No scouting on this spot. I know they are here.

JD if you dug up mud on the way in and you're on Wheeler, you're probably already in trouble
