If your GSP is like mine it will run through it while bucking like a bull from getting shocked!

A friend’s lab would whimper and carry on then run thru it. She knew it was gonna hurt but if she wanted to go she went.
He had another lab that wouldn’t get near the underground fence.

Works great for my lab. He was collar conditioned before we had the fence so no big deal. You can adjust the collar to start shock at one of 5 levels and you can make the the shock zone fairly large if needed. I fenced in almost 4 acres. I rented a cable trencher from sunbelt rentals. Not to bad of job if the ground has a little moisture.

I have one that keeps my GSP in the yard and out of the flower beds. Works great. Turn it up!

Our collars worked good - our collar would start beeping if they were getting close to get shocked and they would retreat - they had a pretty good size area and they stayed inside the area - nicer than a fence to me

I have one and rotate 3 collars among 5 dogs. 3 golden retrievers and 2 poodles. They are in a 1acre back yard with this system and when one without a collar goes over line I simply just swap a collar to them. I have never had one get out with a collar on. Most times people are unaware of how to set the shock levels.

Had a buddy with a big male black lab that loved the ladies and loved to roam outside his home yard. He installed an in ground electric fence. He was all excited to see how great it would work. I asked him about a month later how it was working and he said "not worth a flip. Dog yelps when he leaves the yard and he yelps when he comes back into the yard. Only thing good I can say about it is at least now I know when he is coming and going and when he's out roaming the countryside.

That’s pretty funny - sounds like he had it figured out - the shock was worth it for a chance at the ladies

Mine worked great - it would beep when dogs got close and they would high tail it back in the Safety zone

My lab had been use to the electronic beeps from a shock collar so the inground fence works well. My friend uses the wireless with now issues.

On a side note, he don't even wear the collar now and stays where he belongs
