Anybody use Gramoxone to burn down your wildlife plots? Any experience or thoughts welcome.

I use it pretty regular. It works fast. I guess thats the benefit to using it rather than roundup

So what's the real advantage to this besides it works faster? Is it better and cheaper or just faster than roundup?

Total different mode of action than gly. I like making my preplant trip with it cause it basically finishes off my summer annuals. If you use gly enough you’ll create resistance.

I am thinking If I have heavy weed growth it will dry up faster and be ready to plant earlier. I have some plots that have not been mowed all year and I want to be ready to plant in a month or so.

Probably a little cheaper than gly to mix if my math is right.

I guess the resistance buildup deal would also be a plus. Didnt really think about that. I would say gramoxone kills everything whereas there might be a few weeds gly wont kill because of resistance or whatever reason. But ive seen gramoxone knock the leaves off blackberry briars and a few other things but it didnt kill them, they rebounded pretty quick.

Gramoxone is not systemic like gly. Gramoxone is strictly contact kill. Use a lot of water. Gramoxone won’t “kill” like gly it burns off green plant tissue. That’s why I stated on annuals it kills them. On pernennials they gonna green back up unless it’s right at the end of its life cycle. Example. Spray Italian ryegrass with paraquat in early winter you’ll piss it off. Spray it in April and you’ll smoke it

And please wear eye and face shields while handling. We almost lost a farm hand a few years ago to it. He spent 90 days in the hospital and 14 of that was on life support

No. A hose fitting blew out on a bulk tank while he was mixing loads. Covered his face. Invested and inhaled way too much.

Wish I had some, I let my appl. license laps this year. I have a couple small field I would spray since I'm behind schedule.

I spray alot of gramoxone at times and im alive and doing fine. 257 said his worker had a large amount splash directly in his face at one time. If you take minimal precautions, it is safe to use. You cant drink it or take a bath in it.

I can easily get Diquat.

No trailer diquat isn’t near the same. And you gotta have a private applicator license to buy gramoxone or paraquat. It’s easy to get. Go online take the test on ACESag website

Maybe.....I don't know.....I guess one could make a case for such.....although in my defense.....the thurough and rigorous long term testing of the subject has produced enough data that I can sleep easy knowing that I'll most likely just wake up with indigestion tomorrow morning and not a pecker growing off my forehead

For someone with such strongly held religious beliefs that it's a sin against God's will for us to ingest toxins like THC into our bodies.....You certainly.dont seem to mind or give.much thought to doing it to the rest of God's creatures that your actions may be impacting...Hell why worry about that kind of thing anyways.....it's not like any of these biblical principles are a deeper blueprint for managing more than just your pot habit and asian porn addiction that may or not have gotten out of hand depending on who you ask.....me or my wife... What I’m getting at here is that we can assess the unintended side effects of humans ingesting “chemicals” a whole lot easier than we can assess the effects of nature ingesting it into the cycle. If the chemicals we deem safe for us to take have those types of impacts on us……then don’t tell me that the ones that will roast your face off aren’t doing the same thing. We just aren’t identifying them or even attempting to look for them apparently if “not dead yet” is all that is needed to give the green light and a thumbs up……Go ahead and spray!!!.....The label says the numbness should go away in time!.......

In the event we do ever recognize and “see” negative impacts occurring…..We never link them to being side effects of our management practices. Instead its just seen as “normal” and we go back to buy another solution……Even if the subject doesn’t interest you….psychology is well worth taking a little time to just understand the basics of human nature how our brains are wired….It’s scary how easily we can be manipulated without even realizing it by a person or people with an agenda and the knowledge of which buttons to push in what order.

Don’t poke your chest out and tell yourself that it can’t be done to ME….If you don’t even know what to look for then you wont even know it happened……It may start with something as simple as "Spot on brother!".....and next thing you know you find yourself trying to rationalize and explain to your buddies why it’s not really gay.
