On a field that is row cropped but then portions of it are planted in food plots after crops are picked up- Do you guys just get the soil “right” once a year or fertilize before planting crops and then again before

How much effect would planting the normal 5 way type of food plot mix have on a field that is already being kept up for beans and corn?

Hope my questionsmakes sense. I also understand these are somewhat hypothetical and very situational.

I would plant your mix and just put out some nitrogen. Probably around 150lbs per acre of ammonia nitrate or 100lbs of urea per acre and you should be in good shape. If the land has good beans where your plot is going to be you could probably put out a little less nitrogen since the beans will leave some nitrogen in the ground.

I'd probably do a quick soil test just to see what it looks like.
