For general shooting, i.e. practice, varmints, plinking etc, what us the threshold you try to stay under when looking for bullet deals online ? I like to stay under $0.30 and preferably under $0.25 per bullet. Talking rifle loads here

For pistols I like the Berry's plated bullets, especially when they were less than $0.15/ea.

"Cull" is just another four letter word...

I recently bought a good bit of Berry's plated bullet's for 9mm and 45 but have never loaded any plated yet.i got the hybrid hollow points for 45 in 185gr and 230gr and 147gr fmj for 9mm hopefully they work well.loaded tons of standard jacketed bullets but usually just buy Hornady fmj, xtp, and Magnus jacketed bullets for general purpose plinking and buy Speer gold dot for self defense stuff.

For rifle mostly Hornady stuff and some Sierra and nosler.hell I try all of it for rifle stuff.

But I'm probably no help cause I've never calculated cost per round.ive just stayed away from Barnes and Berger or the more expensive stuff.
I've calculated ammo a few times and found I'm making very premium Taylor made ammo for less than buying the cheapest factory stuff and just been happy with that.im sure this doesn't answer your question though

Not really searching for a specific answer, just looking to see how others are approaching it.

I approached it by buying a bullet mold (61gr .225). Don't know if I can get it to work, but I'm gonna try it. Accuracy, in certain situations, has taken a back seat to being as self sufficient as possible.
