Sorry I don't have a picture, but that would just be cruel.
The perfect omelet contains 4 eggs and 1oz of buttermilk. Despite anything else you add, you must begin with 4 eggs and 1oz of buttermilk. The older the buttermilk, the better.
I like to add a handful of diced ham, one diced San Marzano tomato, two chopped jalapeño peppers and pepperjack cheese. It really doesn't matter what cheese you use (as long as it's pepper jack).
Add a large dollop of pure unsalted butter to an iron skillet for proper accent and non-stickyness.
You're well on your way to omelet utopia! 👌

Pro Tip - Add a huge dollop of mayonaise to add some extra zip to it!

The mayonnaise or sour cream is an adequate substitute for the buttermilk.
Just make sure that it's well past the expiration date. It doesn't get good until it passes the expiration.

They are usually ugly. But still taste good. Comes out looking more like a scrambled bowl.

Get you a good 10" non stick skillet. Cook on medium low heat. Place butter in the pan till it melts. Add eggs only to the skillet till bottom starts to get solid then add the ingredients. Cover and let it go. Takes about 4-8 minutes. Run a fork around the edge to make sure it's free from the skillet then start to let it slide onto the plate. When it's half way out flip the edges together. You can also get it to roll up like a burrito. Easy peasy. wink
