The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

I’ve owned several and never had one hunt worms. I have Boykins that catch and eat frogs.

A bored lab can be a very destructive force of nature. Give them a job and keep them busy. Have owned labs for 25 years and won't own another breed.

Mine will eat rocks, concrete, roots, or whatever she can find even with a full bowl of dog food sitting there, they are a strange breed and all different but will not bring another breed around its labs or nothing

Mine has an excellent nose and when I take her to the woods she'll immediately hit a trail and start hunting. Only problem is she'll backtrail a deer or rabbit to wherever they last pooped and start feeding down. She's also partial to cat poop but doesn't eat yote or coon poop. grin

Both of mine LOVE the rabbit poop. Not sure why, apparently its not a big deal. At least they like something we have a seemingly endless supply of.

I envy you guys. Appreciate them is all I can say. Wife & I had to put our 12 1/2 yr old chocolate lab down Friday afternoon. It appears she had a stroke and to see an active old girl go downhill like that was sad. My son up in NC got to facetime her beforehand. We're all tore up right now but will be okay. Allie had her quirks too but she was a great dog to be around. Enjoy them. Dog spelled backwards is God!

I came, I saw, so I killed them all......Vern

Hate that. They really touch us and take a piece of us with them when they part from us. My old lab passed a year ago this time.Same age as your girl. Had got him from a member as a pup here back in 07. Was not only a great family pet but a heck of a working gun dog. Every time that joker seen me go to the hunting gear closet or grab a shotgun he was ready to go. After getting on the real thing he'd turn his nose up at bumpers.

My British lab is going on 10 years. She was a great duck dog and probably still is. Never even killed a grasshopper...might pick one up in her mouth but will let it go.
