How are you distinguishing the different types of hardwoods in winter photography?

By looking at the image.

If you can ID different species of hardwoods on your OnX you have a version way better than mine.

I didn't want to be the one to say it! I can still tell a pine stand from hardwoods regardless of the timing of the images. If I need to know any more than that, I go look with my own two eyes.

It would at times show and older photo in the layer once fully zoomed in. I never thought it was winter foliage though

When you zoom way in you can see a lot more. Summer pictures are useless.

Its not an older photo? I have zoomed in on areas with old growth and once zoomed showed it as a clearcut

Yes I have noticed certain areas that you zoom in on it will be an older image or sometimes a newer image.

I hate the new 3D thingy too. I can read contour lines just fine. I don’t need the 3D.

BruteX, I don't understand why so many OnX users (or ANY user of a satellite image) don't understand what you're talking about. Back a few years ago, I was going to use a hunting app and just because their image showed a summer time picture, I elected not to use the app. Man alive, why can't some of these ppl get it? Winter imagery shows hardwoods vs pines (hardwoods are brown and pine trees are green during the winter) and you can see the roads MUCH better and basically, things such as creeks, lakes, openings, etc... just show up much better in winter time imagery!!

I just looked at my OnX and dang it... I can't see crapola with summer time pix!!!!!

I don't get it why OnX Hunt doesn't understand that? I'd rather have an older pic during the winter time than an UTD pic during the summer.

We understand, They do not do summer time and winter pics. You can click and get a different pic but it's not a seasonal option.

OnX contacted me back and they understand. Hopefully they will fix.
