I have a problem with hogs on my property in Baldwin County. Several guys are actively trapping on adjoining landowners as well as night time shooting. I talked with the two men (very nice fellows) earlier this week and showed them the damage on my property. They have baited the area and waiting to see when they return to set up a trap. You basically sign a permission slip and zero cost. Here's the link with some pretty good information. I was just wondering if anyone else here was taking advantage as it is a USDA taxpayer (that's us) funded project.

That's a good program. More landowners will participate if it doesn't cost them.
Also, we to implement the death penalty for anyone who transports a live hog.

My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

Agreed, but you can put them in retreat mode. I killed 41 armadillo's last year, 11 armadillo's since turkey season ended this year and it's tough to find armadillo sign around these parts. I have what is referred to as the "wheel barrow of death" and make rounds while everyone is sleeping. The hogs are on notice. My family refers to me as "the determined SOB". I'm just trying to take advantage of this program and wondered if others have heard of it yet.

I personally ain’t giving the government permission to do anything on my property. If the program is like most gov programs you would have better results just shooting or trapping them yourself.

APHIS Wildlife Services is using funding provided to states to work in specified watersheds to control wild hogs. They’ve hired several trapping specialist to help with the effort. I don’t know why anyone who owns land within those watersheds wouldn’t want them to help. There’s also funding available through the NRCS offices to assist with monitoring and trapping.

Mbrock, do you know Ross Williams or Chris Butler? I talked with them for about an hour and both seemed like good guys. They are catching/killing hogs around me so I like them!

Not a great picture but, this makes 24 they have caught. No charge and no labor.

Is there a list out there on which watersheds are within the program?

The link at the top has a LOT of information. Might have a place to ask that question as well.
