jwalker why didnt you like yours? I have been thinking about getting a Savage in .17 Ive had a ruger american and a A17, neither were as accurate as I was expecting. Not so much that I dont like the A17 as I just wanted one for a long time so when I finally got it, it was sortof a letdown. Nothing wrong with it per say. I didnt like the ruger, just didnt like it. The A17 is more accurate than the ruger. Also I bought a nikon rimfire scope to go on the A17 and it broke about the second time I got the gun out, took them several months to get it back to me. Just a bad overall experience.

I would look at a cz or ruger if I were to buy another... You right about the magazine. If I loaded more than six, it would jamb. Does better with the 25 rounders that snap together gorilla style.

I love mine..93r17 savage....an yes...yes it will rock a coyotes socks off...i have bopped several in the ribs with balistic tips an it just destroys them
