I'm not a golf fan, but I'm interested in watching Tiger woods and Peyton Manning playing against Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady. It's going to be live competition and I believe they will have to choose one club and play with it through a particular chosen hole- driving, chipping and putting with the same club. Wish they had to use one club for the whole course.
Might be interesting, might be I turn it off after 1st hole.
I have no idea what this means, Explain :
"The match will include nine holes of fourball (best ball) play followed by nine more holes of alternate shot play at Medalist,...."

Four ball is where each player plays his own ball for the entire hole, and they record the best score of the two players for each hole. Alternate shot play is exactly like it sounds. Each team uses only one ball per hole, and has to alternate shots....first player hits the tee shot, then second player hits the next shot, then back to the first player for the next shot....etc.

When Sam Snead was in his prime in the 1950’s, he was the Resident Pro at the Greenbriar CC in WV. My Dad was originally from Elkins , WV and my parents would vacation there. Sam would bet anybody some serious coin, playing 18 holes with just a 5 iron. Sam averaged around 68 playing with just a 5 iron. I watched Sam play at the Senior Open at Oakland Hills CC, and he had the smoothest swing I’ve ever seen.

It was a fun match to watch.....Justin Thomas was surprisingly good as a commentator - guess he's got a retirement gig lined up if he wants it.
I wish they'd incorporate some of the aspects of The Match into normal PGA tournaments........mic'ing some of the players, having some of the commentators interact with the players during, etc. Maybe keep the majors as-is, but let them loosen up on the non-majors....
