Please, like I have that kind of cash!? It's a simple 'ol blue collar workhorse. A Cabela's CGR 6'6" 2WT paired with a Redington ZERO reel.

The more time I spend on the Cahaba, the more I wonder why I run around to all these lakes........

Very nice! All the floors and cold weather have kept me from going yet. Plus, Lay Lake has been good the past few weeks. But I am gonna get after some red-eyes soon, Lord willing.

I hope you do! I have some more "sampling" to do this week too.

Ole popping bug gets them every time! Incredible pictures. Have several creeks here I fish that are too wooded for fly rods, but a pocket full of rooster tails and an ultralight is perfect. No such thing with a little practice. I've fished some that you would think there was no way to cast. It's certainly more difficult with a fly rod, but it can be done!

I have a 7'6' Cabelas Prestige 3wt. TQR (Tight Quarters Rod) I use for stuff like that. Heck, I use it for all my creek fishing.

secret to thick cover is to use the fly rod like a cane pole.
