Just getting into a little bit of gardening, I've had a little 6x4 garden that I have planted tomatoes, beans, and basil each year. I've cleared out a 50x50 area and wasn't sure what to plant. Wanting to know what I have a space for and how many different things I could grow.

Got to plant a few tomatoes for the BLT sandwich’s. Yellow squash, easy to grow and will probably produce more than you want. Cucumbers are easy to grow, grow them vertically to save space. Peppers are also easy to grow, jalapeno, bell, banana, is also easy. Okra is easy to grow and you can wait a bit before planting it, it likes hot weather. Find you a spot away and plant a few watermelons and forget about them. Then put the boots on and venture in, you might find a few.

I like Jiffy cornbread.

25x25 block of corn in north corner a few 50 ft rows of Okra, squash, and field peas. that leaves you another 25x25 for tomatoes, peppers, eggplants etc

Don’t forget lime and fertilizer. Soil test would be ideal, but it won’t be expensive to just get a couple bags of lime and triple-13. My garden productivity went through the roof once I got the soil right.

Know a fella that grows outstanding gardens every year... Has a pile of dirt with all his hunting, fishing, and table scraps he composts.

Good compost is key. Chicken poop is best in my opinion.
