The few I have been around were good gun dogs. They are pretty dogs.

When I had my GSP, I wanted to a griffon. When I get older, I want one cause it will look like me smile

I own 2. I don't think I'll ever own another breed. They are 1st cousins and couldn't look any more different. Older one has a shorter wiry coat and younger is just a mop. They are great dogs and love to hunt, love the water, love the kids, and absolutely will not leave your side. Here is one note: they are more stubborn than an old mule. Training was a challenge, but they are super smart and have a ton of natural instinct. They know exactly what they are supposed to do and when they are supposed to do it... yet sometimes, they don't care, no matter the consequences. Reckon they get that from the old man. Ha.

If there's any doubt, then there is no doubt... The gut don't never lie.

My cousin has one and every time he knows they are about to leave, (he puts him in the backyard) he will go jump on the couch and will have to drag him for a couple of feet before he will get up and go.

I've got one. It is a great breed. Advertised as a versatile breed. Mine is a good gun dog, it means he gets to chase a bird down.... He's got too much energy sometimes to sit on a stand or in a blind, but he's a 2 yr/old. I think the breed doesn't get enough credit for their upland game skills. The only negative is they are stubborn when they want to be, like Reb said.
