What’s the best bait? I’ve used shrimp and had pretty good luck. Looking for other options.
Tks

I'm planning on setting some limb lines or maybe a trotline or two in the near future.
Gonna try some of that frozen squid WM has in the fishing section.
Just bought 40 ounces for 5$, hard to beat that.
Ought to stay on the hook pretty good.

Caught a 40lb'er on a hotdog last year, also had good luck with gizzards. I've never tried with live shad or minnows but I have used dead shad a couple times and didn't do that great.

beef tongue --- you can cut it to give you that hard area to give the large hook something to grab onto. The bait won't just get all mushy.
