I hunted some land that joined a guys property. His crackhead daughter lived in a trailer there at the end of the road where I walked in on a firebreak.

One evening as I came out, I just got to my truck and had just laid my rifle in the seat when I hear footsteps in the road. She was standing barefoot in the road holding a rifle screaming and cussing at me. I turned and shined my light in her eyes and she started threatening me. She couldn’t see they I had my hand on my pistol and seriously considered shooting her, but really didn’t want that. I talked her down and as soon a she walked off, I called the law on her.

Never seen her again.

Is there a bag limit on bigfeet's and aliens? Also is there a biological reason not to harvest spotted bigfeet's??

I was hunting with a buddy in Kansas and dropped him of on a hill in the middle of a huge wheat field. Across the field was railroad tracks that I was suppose to pick him up at dark. I parked that night at dark and waited. I look up the hill and someone is walking across the ridge swinging a lantern on the waterway where my buddy had walked in. I curse a little that he wasn’t listening (and wonder where in the hell he got a lantern)and holler across the field with no reply. The figure crosses the road still swinging the lantern with his gait and enters the field on the other side and disappears down a Hill. I drive up to the top of the hill and the figure and his lantern are nowhere to be seen. I could see about a half mile in that direction. Bout that time I see my buddies light coming down the track where I had been parked. The guide had lived in that area his whole life and had no clue whoor what it could have seen.

Game check probably won’t be working properly so I wouldn’t worry about it.

Was hunting a new property about 20 years ago
Had gotten there about an hour before daybreak and just as it was cracking day....this thing starts roaring growling woofing loudly
It was so loud I could feel the sound...like being near a bull when it bellows. I grew up in south walker county and never heard anything like that.
I waited til daylight and looked around to see what it was...never saw anything. I left when it saw it was all clear

About 5 years ago was turkey hunting and watched a thing move through the woods...it was clear like a vapor but reminded me of Predator the movie monster
This thing was 8'-10' tall moving soundless through the woods navigating through the trees. It didn't alarm me but rather peaked my curiosity

Fishing a tournament out of Live oak. We were going way up the alabama River. Bunch of boats and foggy. My buddy was driving and I was trying to help watch for boats, logs, etc. When we turned north onto the Mobile, there was a guy rowing a freaking pirogue right out in the middle of the river. I started pointing and yelling for the driver to look out. When he looked over and slowed , he said what and where? I looked back and wasn’t anything there, not a log, bird nothing. Don’t know what I saw, but I can still see that guy rowing in my mind. Weird,..

I saw the Choccolocco Monster back in 1991. Over by the tracks. It was 7 foot tall, black and fuzzy headed. It liked grape soda.

I’ve been hearing stories about this a lot lately. Seems awful strange.

This past deer season in Barbour Co I was walking out of the woods after dark. As I was walking up the path I saw two red lights moving left to right. I thought it was someone in the club driving by on the main road. Then all of a sudden the lights were gone and I realized I hadn’t heard anything driving. When I got to where the lights were (maybe 20 yards) I wasn’t anywhere near close enough to the road to see truck taillights if it had been one, the pines were too thick.
I have no idea what I saw.

Several years ago I was invited to hunt at a lodge somewhere around Fort Payne. It rained like crazy all weekend and I was the only idiot who decided to go out in it. The owner showed me a place on the map, and “guaranteed” me that if I’d I sit on the side of the cliff (literally a cliff) that I would see every deer walking the bottom and probably kill a nice buck. After watching a lot of squirrels and not seeing a single deer the sun went down. It was still pouring rain, but thankfully I had left my flashlight at the camp - so at least it was safe. The only thing I had was the old Motorola flip phone that I had put into a Zip Lock bag to keep dry. As I was walking out - I kept hearing something walking beside me and in front of me (very close) and for the life of me, couldn’t figure out what it was. I would take a few steps, it would take a few steps... this went on for a little bit and I started to get very nervous. I reached into my cargo pants pocket to get my phone to call someone to bring me a light, when suddenly I tripped on something AND it took off running. It scared the Hell out of me and with my gun up, safety off, and the very dim light of the trusty Motorola flip phone - I discovered what it was that was hunting me.

An armadillo. I was never so glad to see one.

That was a meteor. I seen them 3 times in my life where they light up the sky from 3-4 seconds and it turns everything around to total daylight. It has different intensities as far as brightness goes. Kinda flashes from bright to super bright. It’s an eerie feeling at midnight to see this happen, and with completed silence. I knew what the second one was about hit the deck. Your mind tells you that a huge KABOOM is going to follow.

As far as the bright lights story told above, there is a famous ghost story told by the older locals about seeing that very thing.
Col. CC Pegues ghost. https://cahawba.com/history-and-legacy/pegues-ghost/

I saw one that lit everything up like that one morning on the Escambia River before daylight. It was a huge fireball that lasted for several seconds and looked like it hit ground but never made any sound. I'm sure it was a long way away but it looked like it was close. I had a pack of wolves howling at me from several hundred feet above me in Idaho. Had another wolf that growled and then howled at me, again from above me, and again in Idaho. That one prompted me to leave the area quick in fading daylight and as I hustled out of there I abruptly came face to face with a cow elk. It scared the crap out of the elk and me. The worst one by far was also in Idaho. I had left out of the woods at dark and made it out to a road where I was to be picked up at that time. No one was there and it was one of those moonless nights that was so black you couldn't see your hand right in front of your face if you turned your flashlight off. I heard wolves howling way off in the distance and there were fresh wolf tracks where I was waiting. I had my flashlight on the whole time for comfort and then it went dead. The wolves went quiet but sitting there alone in the pitch black 50 miles from anybody and where you can't hear any human related sounds was intimidating to say the least. I ended up waiting an hour and a half in the pitch black dark before my ride showed up. I was very close to having a nervous breakdown by then. That was super scary and my mind made me believe I could hear things moving in the woods around me several times.

I can't even begin to describe how comforting it was to finally hear a vehicle far off in the mountains and listen to it get closer and closer and then finally see headlights.

When I was just a kid, I read a book about Bigfoot encounters in the Cascades. One couple recounted strange noises they would hear in the woods behind their house and how they got more frequent and closer. They had dogs and the dogs became so frightened by whatever it was that they would not go outside after dark. Then one evening the wife was washing dishes in the kitchen sink and looked up to see a Bigfoot looking at her through the kitchen window about a foot in front of her. I know that is all BS but it still gives me the creeps to think about it. Being in the Idaho backcountry alone at night isn't a great time to recall that story!

Sure is cool to pile on someone to fit in.

IMO, old Outback is right on many more things than most of you will ever give him credit for. He's just not afraid to speak his mind, where most of us fall in line with the 'Aldeer Common Line".
