Thinking about getting one, anybody have one? Would this be a decent deer killer?

Not really a good choice for deer, but I have killed a couple with mine. 158 gr xtp’s inside 100yds work well.

gat a PUMA in 454 Casull, a good deer killer. Also shoots 45 Colts.

The Puma is a much better pick.

Only hits count.

I should have clarified, it will definitely be nowhere near my main deer rifle. I want it more for shooting and having it for a truck/ 4 wheeler gun. But, there may come a day where'd id like to shoot a deer with it. Can anyone speak on accuracy? Id like to target shoot to 75 or so.

I wish my buddy was on here. He’s got a Marlin 357. It’s one of his favorite guns and loads 357 shells 1k at a time. He shoots it out well past 100 yards just plinking, but it drops like a rock. You basically lob it in.

I've killed several deer with the 454Casull. Short, light, not bad recoil, hits deer like the Hammer of Thor.

Anyone here that couldn’t kill anything with anything?

I like the 357 in a lever gun, I’m not fond of the Marlin 1894 bolt though, you could skin a deer with that thing. I’ve lost a lot of blood to them over the years.

I like my .357 lever gun. It prefers heavier bullets, 140's and 158's...not nearly as accurate with anything lighter than that.

I've kilt a truck load of deer and hogs with a 158 grain 357.
