Glad to be here fellas. I’ve been working in Orlando the last week, slipped off this morning and got us on the board, hope to get another hunt or two in next week and should be back in bama with a week off after that. Good hooks, but unfortunately beard rot got him.

Congrats on the bird, I had one at 10 yds this morning I was trying to get my little boy to shoot him. He never did get around some thick stuff, I could have shot him and probably should have.

My spot is in Greene County and I am dedicated ....hence sitting in the rain as I type this

I went mid day yesterday. Worked with several different gobblers... but ultimately, they did what Turkeys do.

I think I've got them patterned at one particular spot. Hope to connect soon. Gonna try to slip out of the house today and get after them

I was dead on right about it. 2 big gobblers did EXACTLY what I thought they would do today. Me and Travis set up on a field that we felt like the birds were using between 2 and 3. At 2:30 one of them stepped out into the field. Well with-In range. We saw another one behind him and made the decision that we were gonna try to double up and pass any shot on the single bird at first. A few minutes goes by and both birds presented us with our shots. We shot and both birds took off. This miss is super complexing to me. I honestly have no clue how we both missed, but we did. It almost seemed like the birds were too close, maybe my pattern went right by his head.

I hate turkeys.

That stinks. Did y’all count to 3? I learned a Long time ago one person needs to kill him and the second needs to bat cleanup.

Yea we counted off into the shots. We are usually good at that but Im sure we messed it up.

In retrospect we should have just killed the first bird, first.

Everyday in the turkey woods is a learning experience, sounds like y’all have plenty of birds to fiddle with.

Got us another osceola . He will score pretty well, close to 1.5” stickers I’m thinking. That’s a limit in Florida, so I won’t be able to hunt until I wrap this project up and get back to bama.

Heck yeah man, you are laying the smack down on them. Congrats on another bird. I will get us one this weekend, I let a good one walk by me at 10 yds last weekend hoping my little boy would be able to take him, however never would get in position so he could make a good shot

Awesome! Im working for 4 days then will be off for 4 days. Gonna get back after them Saturday.

You fellas have any thought for a team name?

Sorry I'm just getting on board with the team. I worked a bird Sat morning for an hour but he was on neighboring property and couldn't get him to budge. Planning on going Thursday morning before work and hopefully both days this weekend.

I am good with any name here are a few I can come up with

I went yesterday morning until 11. Only heard one gobble way off, by the time I made it to where I thought he was he didn't make another sound. Only managed to call in a lone hen around 10 am. Planning on going tomorrow morning.

I will be giving them hell tomorrow and Sunday

I'll get after them some over the next 4 days. I'll keep yall posted. I hunt my wifes family land 1200acres in Skyline.

I drove through the night to get home from Orlando. Rolled in to some land I’ve got near the house about 5am. Had a textbook hunt right off the roost. Their hen busted me and I shot the lead bird at 25yds through some brush. Somehow just managed to gimp him up, I’m pretty damn sick about it.

Good news is, I’ve got the week off, so maybe I can luck into one and redeem myself

My birds are not doing what they supposed to do ....I hunted from daylight till dark

Hunted Saturday morning and had one gobble twice on the roost and once when he hit the ground. Never did put eyes on him, been a tough season so far.

Headed back to Clanton tommorow.

I'm hunting Clanton this morning. I have not heard any gobble,s.
But I did have one fly down into the feild about 15
Minutes ago, don't know what it is, gonna sit tight for a while.

Man I have went every weekend and the birds are few and far, none on camera in the normal hotspots. I have walked miles after miles to try and see what the sign is telling me. I got my cameras on several dust bowls and and fields. 7 cell cameras running and nothing, other than the occasional hen

Its definitely seems to be hot and cold based on location this year. Where I'm hunting it has been brutal, in East Alabama where some of my buddies hunt, they are having a great season.
