I have a 645 my dad bought new years back. All the 3rd gen S&W are real work horses. I like the **46 series (DAO) the best

Carried a 4506 on duty for a few years. Man, that thing was heavy. I'm sure I had a few thousand rounds through it, don't remember ever having a malfunction. Yes, the full size are heavy for sure the 45 especially with full mag of 230gr bullets. . I usually use the 5946 for bedside , and my 6946 tucked in the truck console. Had zero malfunctions out of mine.
