Why switch now? I did shoot the ballistic tip boattails for a little bit but they messed up too much meat. Just fragmented too much.

I just looked and it seems they might have discontinued.them. Sorry, I'm behind the times. My dad bought about 8 boxes before he passed 5 years ago. I still have enough left for a few more years I guess. that is the only reason i had to switch

If I was switching I'd probably start with ammo that used the nosler partition. Or maybe the accubond. Pick one of these two and you'll be happy.

hard to beat a 150gr core-lokt i'd start with these and the federal fusion 150s...cheap and available...remmy 700s love both. i have a couple of tikkas that don't like so much but do like the Hornady's sst 140s

I am pretty stubborn about 130 grain for 270 and 150 for 30-06. Though for elk I would entertain a change to 150 (270) and 180 (30-06). (edit:don't tell Jack that though)
Just checked and now I'm worried. Only have 2 1/4 boxes of super x 130 grain silvertips. Got to start getting picky on my shooting or switch to 30-06 cause I've got a few left in that caliber.

The best ammo isa what your gun likes best. For my rifle Winchester Accubonds are the best. Good luck.

Perch nailed it. I’d shoot whatever your gun likes best. My 2 favorite .270 rounds for terminal performance on whitetail are the 130gr Partition and the 130gr Fusion. I’ve got another .270 that’s very picky and only loves the 130gr Hornady GMX, other .270’s I had hated it. That’s my favorite part of owning rifles, dialing in the most accurate/best performing load.

Very satisfied with this in my Abolt. Nosler Partition 270 WinI also shoot it in my 30-06 (also an Abolt). But my 7mm mag doesnt like them, in that I shoot Barnes ttsxbt 140 grain.

130gr Fusion or 130 gr Nosler Partition. End of search.

I've never been convinced there's another .270 round any better than a Remington Core-Lokt in 130 grain. Me too. Man I have shot a bunch of deer with them and zero problems. Over probably 50 deer I have shot with them only had one get away and that was because I shot through brush which I shouldn't of anyway. They are an awesome round.

beat me to it. If you can find it, it's the best I've ever used. Sometimes a company tries to improve on something that is already as good as it needs to be. 95% of all my deer have been killed with this round. Dr. B

130gr Fusion or 130 gr Nosler Partition. End of search. Tried the 130 partitions. That is what convinced me to get a 30-06. But I still have a .270 Winchester m70 for sale with a bunch of 130 partitions if anyone is interested.

Winchester silver ballistic tips I have 2 boxes of those left, but they can make hamburger of a deer without a grinder. Shoot great. Not good for shooting through brush either.

Some people say they aren't accurate but in my rifle they are..... and devastating. 130g Hornady Superformance SST. Only one I shoot now.

I had some 150 grain Winchester XP3 that were bad to the bone. They discontinued them though. So switched to 130 grain barnes. Tbey been working nicely X2. Also 150gr accubonds

I've been made fun of, but I shoot monarch 130 gr soft points. I have shot 4 or 5 deer with them. 1 went 50 yards. I shot 2 out to about 300 yards. I made good shots on all of them. I can't say how they would do on a marginal shot.

I shoot Nosler accubonds and partitions now.

I've seen bad primers, loosely seated bullets, and poorly constructed bullets that will explode on contact. Shoot enough of them and you will get a bad lot.

Both my Sako .270's like Barnes Vor-Tx 130g TTSX Been wanting to try those to compare against accubonds.
