I’m becoming more intrigued by the idea of an 8 or 16-team playoff.

If you want a true champion, keep it at 4. The more games you make the best teams play, the better chance they will loose. Odds change the more you play. It's all about money, itll change eventually.

Leave it at 4. Like wew said above, nearly all the semifinal games are blowouts...or at least less than competitive.

Get rid of the NCAA, establish a maximum salary of $36k plus scholarship/board/meals/insurance/clothing/etc, get rid of profiting off of likeness...…. that right there would bring it back to a little more like college.

Right now we all know every school pays players, EVERY SINGLE SCHOOL and the NCAA picks the big name perennial powers to make examples out of and that isn't right (see Bama, USC, Penn State).

The profiting off of their likeness is too much like the NFL, save that kind of stuff for the professional side.

Don't touch the number of teams in the playoff. The only ones crying about it are the ones who aren't making it. Instead of changing the rules to get your team in the playoff just get your team better. Alabama didn't make it this year but you don't hear Bama fans crying for 6 or 8 teams.

It's all about the Benjamins. If going to an 8 or 16 team playoff makes more money, then it will happen. College football is not an amateur sport.

I'll say 4 is plenty too.

I think there should be a representative from each Power 5 conference then 1 at large bids which should usually be an SEC team. That gives all the other conferences outside of the major 4 something to play for and broadens the viewing audience, thus creating more money for those involved.

If they're not worthy of a top 4, they're not worthy at all.

The PAC12 this past year was schitt....as was the Big12. The ACC was a one team conference.

Best 4 teams, period...regardless of conference affiliation.

The one thing I rarely here in all this playoff expansion talk is the health of the players or their ability to at least try to go to school. These are 18-22YO kids we're talking about for the most par. In my lifetime, we've gone from a 10 games plus a bowl game, to 11 games, plus a bowl, then add a conference championship, then add a 12th game. Then the championship rounds were added for the final 4. Now we want to expand this to 8 or 16 teams, making two teams have to play a 17 game schedule if I'm adding right? That is too much. If that expansion happens, they need to be paid and paid according to the number of games they have to play.

#2 verse #3 on #2's home field for the right to play #1 on their home field. Makes the regular season even more valid. Never happen but I can dream. Screw #4..they can play China in an exhibition for all I care.

I used to think it needed to be at least 8, but I was wrong. 4 is plenty.

All the extra games would be hard on players and fans trying to afford to travel to the games.

GO5 schools need their own playoffs. There is a lot of good football in those conferences, but they will never compete with P5 schools.

8 teams minimum!!!
