Hit it's first circuit breaker in many years. Trading halted for 15 minutes. My move to Treasuries last month looks to be a wise decision. This coronavirus scare will pass and I will start a buying spree.

I thought 30% gains was normal? laugh

It's amazing how short our memories can be. The economy never supported such ridiculous numbers. It was simply unsustainable. Market crashed 7% in a single day. Easy come, easy go.

This crash was about 2 years overdue, and it will be worse because the Fed has been so weak-handed. Rates are already nearing zero and the fun has just begun.

Coronavirus is just a bug, IMO the media is blowing it out of proportion to wreck the markets and put a black mark on the Trump admin in an election year.

It ain't even the virus anymore. It's oil. And the fact that the economy was never nearly as strong as the 1990's and yet somehow stock market went up more. Numbers don't add up.

So, are you dumping some back today? Some of those stock yields have to be giving you an itchy trigger finger.

I had a colleague that I used to talk to on the really bad days. He always joked that I loved catching that falling knife.

I think the virus is a catalyst. Once it “goes away” you’ll still be left with the damages.

This is all fear perpetuated by the media. There is not any hard data to back any of this up.

It was artificially inflated and just looking for a reason to fail.

I think that the media has misplayed this whole thing. They have pushed this virus as an end to humanity pandemic. It will end up killing ~5,000-10,000 people. A fraction of the normal flu each year.

- the market has crashed >>> As it rebounds Trump can beat his chest over and over until the election

- Supply of medical gloves and masks may become a HUGE problem in the next few weeks >>> Trump can scream about the need to bring mfg back to the US to prevent this from happening again

The coronavirus is distracting from:
- Biden vs Bernie = Biggest dumpster fire in the DNC history
- stopped a lot of the protests that were happening around the world (Hong Kong, France (70 weeks of protests), etc)

The stock market is a long term play. Otherwise you might as well be gambling on football games.

If you subscribe to long term dollar cost averaging, then you don't worry when it goes down quickly. It just means you are buying more during those times.

yep, I think it was Warren Buffet who did the index funds vs day trading..... you always come out on top just riding the pine. Everyone always freaks out when there's volatility and I just keep chugging along, checking it about every 6 months. Still making money.

Hard not to play on some cruise line stocks right now.
