Kind of POed at Millennium due to their paint issues that they refuse to acknowledge on the L110. Has anyone tried the Muddy Sky Box???

Best ladder stand you can get are made by Jimmy Andress, lives south of Dothan- 334-714-4424. I have some of his that are over 25 years old.

Totally agree. They are not as comfortable as the modern mesh seats but they are the safest and most durable stands you can possibly buy. We put up about 15 of them in the early 90's and they are still good as new today. They will literally outlast the tree you put them on.

Do you have any pictures of his stands? Just wondering because I live about 45 minutes southeast of dothan and have never heard of these and would like to possibly get a ladder stand for next year.

There was a thread on these a while back. See link below:

Evidently the quality of paint is inversely proportional to the cost of the stands.
I'd never spend the money for a millennium stand and I have no problem with the paint on my cheap stands.

My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

I like his stand, but seems like a lot of metal waste with the ladder being that wide. How tall is that, and cost? The biggest problem I have with 2 man stands are the way they're made make you have to sit straight up. The back should be tilted back some and the seat slid forward.

The paint is chipping away around ALL of the welds and on the ladder rungs. I have seventeen L110 stands that are less than two years old that we have had to strip prime and repaint. It depends on who you talk to at Millinium as to the degree of support. They do admit to a bad batch of paint and a factory issue in China but they are making me jump through hoops to get any satisfaction. For years I haven't looked at another brand whether it was a lock on or a ladder stand, but now they have created a "shopper" and I have found some other good looking quality ladder stands.

Farmers co op in Frisco City used to sell the single ladders. We had made the decision to buy a couple and they were out when we went to get them. I really liked the way they were made. I need to go see if the have them again. I think they were around $200.

The two mans are wide like that. Singles are thinner and solid as a rock. The singles will have your back against the tree and your butt against a metal seat or whatever pad you put on it. These don't have the comfort of the modern seats but if you want strength, safety, and a stand you can leave up year round that will last your entire life, they are unbeatable. They come in two sections with the bottom half of the ladder sliding into the top half. They are heavy and huge so you need a trailer and at least two people to put them up. But at least you don't have to assemble it with 100 cheap bolts and nuts. A decade ago a single was around $150. I would bet they are at least $200 now but I haven't bought one in a decade (since they last forever). I'm guessing they are around 14 ft. You can add a third ladder section and make it taller but those can be a real pain to put up.

Field and Stream makes a pretty good one that’s usually on sale for about $140.. Overlook XL is the new name for it - it was a little better as the old version they called “Outpost XL” (different tubing and packing for the bolts etc.)

I got one of the new Overlook XL stands this year and I like it just like the old version but they didn’t package all the bolts neatly so you have to sort them yourself (not hard) and they DID NOT COME WITH WRENCHES for assembly. Hard lesson to learn there...

Hawk Denali 1.5. Most comfortable stands I've owned and well made.

Agree with this except the part about them being heavy. They are all welded aluminum and extremely light. The tall version is 3 sections and 20'. $240.00 two years ago. I put a stabilizer bar to the tree on mine to stop the legs from flexing a bit as you climb. Not required, but I prefer to use one.

Interesting. He must be making new ones with aluminum. All of mine have been galvanized steel.
