That John petty looks so uninspired to be out there. But he can shoot a 3 all day. His eyes look dull

I wish Petty would contribute something besides shooting 3 pointers. They have 4 people on the floor most of the time actively participating. He looks like a middle schooler that doesn't know where to go.

Do you even watch the games? Petty has made a huge improvement in his game as far as hustle, defense, and dribble penetration to get shooters open. He’s had to guard guys 6” taller than him bc Jones has been out and the bigs have either been banged up or in foul trouble. Look how many times he’s gone baseline to baseline to block a layeup that would have been an easy score.

Yep I watch the games. Just to be clear we are talking about the same Petty...Big hair, dull blank eyes, doesn't start sometimes because coach is trying to make something happen, very few rebounds, less assists. Petty is listed at 6'5"...how many 6'11" players are even in the SEC? Williams, Shackleford, "One-handed" Jones...they never quit and that's what Oats' system requires.

He is very inconsistent which I imagine is what frustrates Oates to no end. I think that he just looks very laid back and this can give the impression that he doesn't care one way or the other which doesn't help his case either.

Oats' whole philosophy is shoot 3's, so can't blame a guy for following what coach is telling them to do. That being said, we're hitting a fair amount of them, but if we're going to be chunking up that many three's, need to get some guys that can hit them regularly.

Lots of truth in this statement. He'll drop 30 one night and 6 the next. It's crazy how streaky he is. When he's on, he's on. Not sure why it isn't more consistent though. His defense and rebounding is always there though, which wasn't the case last year

Some of y’all act like Bama isn’t scoring, or that all their guards suck and can’t shoot. Shackleford averaged 46 points per game last year.

Idk what more y’all expect in Oats first year.
