When I saw the video on the news I told my daughter there was more to this than just a man getting hit. You could see he was standing defiantly trying not to let the car leave. He should mind his own business, probably drives in the left lane also.

You can hear the driver say "Let me show you how we do folks over here where I'm from" on his own video, before he ever got in his car. He hit the man on purpose; The guy hit shouldn't have stood behind the car, but that doesn't excuse the fact that the guy premeditated hitting him.

This is very true. Walking "fine" does not mean someone is not handicapped. ALSO, before my Mother passed away I would often park in a handicapped parking place and get out of the car walking fine but I was walking into the store or hair salon or where ever she was so that I could return with her in her wheelchair. Four different times I was approached or yelled at that I did not need to be using the handicapped spot. Each time I was able to just walk away but things might have gone bad if I had been able to just leave them.

I probably would have done the same. He had a permit, ya'll can argue over weather he really needed it, if you want, but it was issued to him for HIS health issues.

I've seen some folks get outta their car and run a 4.5 second 40 yard dash to the door from their HC parking space. It's almost as if a certain segment of the population gets a HC tag with their license.

I’ve never seen one up close but I saw January was punched on the permit. Does that mean it was expired? Is the year at the bottom? They were careful not to show the bottom.

There is no state law on handicap parking, It is a federal law , Northport will not write you a ticket for parking in handicap but will go find person and ask them to move if they have no handicap permit, this is what happen at Wal-Mart in Northport went and found young man and made him move his truck.
