Any tips to improve accuracy? Does anyone add sights to shoot at home? Would this help? His consistency is totally lacking.

^^^ This. Putting a sight on will definitely help his accuracy. But it will not help him improve his accuracy for the style shooting they do in the NASP.

I don't remember exactly what the NASP uses on bow set up. Is it bare bow?

He's probably punching on release. Get behind him with a clicker and have him keep driving his point of aim on the target. When he hears the clicker go off roll the string off his fingers.

get close, like 5 yards and work on form, no aiming. Eyes closed if he can do that. Does wonders for form.

Yep. That's the first thing I use to do when teaching 4H archery.

muscle memory big time. have him look down the arrow shaft just like most guy's do shooting clays with a shotgun. also practice with his index finger of his bow hand pointed at the target with no arrow, over and over. just like you would face a rifle or shotgun for practice. remember where you point your with your eye's closed is where your arrow is going.
