Anybody ever hunted turkeys in Michigan? Any recommendations on where to go or what areas to stay away from?

Thanks

We hunted up there a few years back. I’m sure you’ve checked but tags are or were a draw system. We didn’t have a problem finding birds on almost every piece of ground we found to hunt. Their ratio of hens and gobblers seemed to be close to 50/50 as well. Not an absolute ton of turkeys but they were spread out in small flocks all over the place and the big crop fields and terrain made for great hunting. The area we hunted was all Amish country. My feet have never been so wet as when we walked in through knee to waist high alfalfa fields with dew on them each morning.

Some men are mere hunters; others are turkey hunters. —Archibald Rutledge—
