Many years ago there was several cross fences, on this place, and now it's just a wad of old wire in the woods. I cut it off and roll it up every time I find another piece of it. Hate for them to go that way. Hog wire seems to be the worst. People who can afford it are starting to use hog wire again. Now it is to keep the hogs out of crops and farm land.

His back leg got stuck in the fence and he broke his leg/hip trying to free himself. i live in a subdivision and was absolutely shocked to see him. My dog led me to him. He was still alive but had been there a few days i think. I cut the wire and freed him but he couldnt run. The game warden did a great job of coming by and shooting him and hauling him off. It was unreal to see a deer where he ended up.

He likely pressed his neck downward to free his antler until he passed out. Then his limp body weight kept the pressure on his neck and he died from suffocation. That is my official autopsy report.
